Community Guidelines

ConfessChain is an anonymous storytelling space for people 18+. These guidelines exist so honesty stays possible without harm. Every post and reply must follow them. Violations can be reported, hidden, or banned.
Who can use ConfessChain
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You may post without creating a traditional account, but you are still responsible for what you write.
- Anonymity is for emotional honesty — not for targeting real people.
Allowed
- Personal stories, regrets, feelings, and unfinished thoughts written in your own words
- Continuing someone else's chain with empathy and honesty
- Discussing relationships, family, work, guilt, grief, and mental health experiences as personal narrative
- Asking for perspective — without demanding medical, legal, or financial advice
Not allowed
- Content involving anyone under 18 in a sexual or exploitative context
- Graphic sexual content, pornography, or solicitation
- Instructions or encouragement for suicide or self-harm (if you are in crisis, contact local emergency services)
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, or glorifying violence
- Doxxing: names, addresses, workplaces, schools, phone numbers, or social handles meant to expose someone
- Spam, scams, phishing, crypto/gift-card schemes, or promotional dumping
- Illegal activity instructions, drug trafficking, weapons sales, or fraud
- Impersonation intended to deceive or cause harm
How moderation works
Moderators review reported content and may hide posts/replies or ban identities that repeatedly break these rules. Mild inappropriate language is auto-masked (for example f**k) before publishing. Severe prohibited content is blocked entirely. Ads are never an excuse for policy-violating UGC — pages must stay compliant with Google AdSense / Publisher policies.
- Use the Report button on confessions and replies
- Reports are reviewed through the admin moderation tools
- Serious or illegal reports may be escalated as required by law
Before you post
- Remove identifying details about other people
- Do not include private messages, screenshots with names, or contact info
- Remember this is storytelling, not therapy or crisis care
