Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
ConfessChain ("we", "us", or "our") operates https://confess-chain.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process when you use our anonymous emotional storytelling platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using ConfessChain, you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
ConfessChain is an anonymous confession and emotional storytelling website. We are designed so you can share and continue stories without creating a traditional public profile. For privacy questions, use our contact form.
2. Information we collect
Content you submit
When you post a confession or continue a chain, we store the text you submit, any mood or category you select, timestamps, and related moderation metadata (for example, report status). Do not include real names, addresses, phone numbers, or other personal data you are not comfortable making public.
Ghost identity
We do not require accounts with real names, emails, or profile photos for normal use. A random ghost identity may be created and stored in your browser so you can recognize your own posts locally. That identity is not intended to identify you personally.
Technical and usage data
Like most websites, our servers and hosting providers may automatically process technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP, pages visited, and timestamps. This helps us operate the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose outages.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage for essential site functions (for example, remembering cookie preferences and local ghost identity) and, if you consent, for advertising. See the Advertising section below for details about Google AdSense.
3. How we use information
- To display, moderate, and improve confessions and chains
- To detect spam, abuse, illegal activity, and policy violations
- To maintain security, performance, and reliability
- To show advertising (when permitted) and measure basic ad performance
- To respond to contact requests you send us
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Content filtering and moderation
To keep ConfessChain safer and compatible with our Community Guidelines and advertising partner policies (including Google AdSense), we automatically scan confessions and replies before they are published.
- Auto-masking: Milder inappropriate language (for example, common swear words or sexual slang) may be partially masked with characters such as asterisks before the post is saved and shown publicly.
- Hard blocks: Content that appears to include prohibited material — such as child sexual exploitation, graphic sexual solicitation, self-harm or suicide instructions, hate recruitment, doxxing, scams, or illegal sales — is rejected and is not published.
- Human review: Users can report posts and replies. Moderators may hide content or restrict identities that repeatedly break the rules.
Filtered or blocked text is processed only to enforce safety and policy rules. We do not sell the contents of your confessions. Automated filters are imperfect; they may miss some violations or occasionally mask more than intended. Full behavioral rules are described in our Community Guidelines.
5. Advertising (Google AdSense)
ConfessChain uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers who help us host, secure, or advertise the site (including Google), when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and the platform.
7. Data retention
Confessions remain available according to the settings chosen at posting (including disappearing posts) and our moderation needs. Technical logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and operations. You may request removal of specific content by contacting us with enough detail for us to locate it.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal data, or to object to processing. Because ConfessChain is anonymous by design, we may need enough information from you to identify the relevant content or request. You can manage cookie preferences through our cookie banner and your browser settings.
9. Children
ConfessChain is not directed to anyone under 18. Do not use the service if you are under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. International visitors
We may process information on servers located in different countries. If you access ConfessChain from the EU/EEA, UK, or similar jurisdictions, advertising cookies are treated as non-essential and should only be used after you make a choice through our cookie consent banner where applicable.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the revised policy.
